Alice M. Drass

Alice M. Drass, 83, formerly of Juniata, passed away Sunday evening. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Carl M. and Mary M. (Wertz) Bossler.

Surviving are a daughter, Renee (Frank) Weidlich; a son, Thomas G. Drass Sr.; a sister, Carol Drass; a brother, Charles Bossler; grandchildren: Hunter Weidlich, Alyssa Weidlich, Mervin L. Sollenberger Jr., Thomas “Tommy” Scott Drass, Leanne Drass, Renee Carlheim, Thomas G. Drass Jr. and Maddison Roland; several great-grandchildren; step grandchildren: Mark Cross and Michele Friendenberger; and daughter-in-law, Pamela Sollenberger.

She was preceded in death by her son, Mervin L. Sollenberger Sr.; brothers, David and Anthony; an infant grandson, Patrick Drass; granddaughter, Trish Bush; and daughter-in-law, Joyce McKinney Drass.

Alice was a Caseworker, employed by the Department of Public Assistance.

She enjoyed listening to music, helping others, and her grandchildren.

Mrs. Drass was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Penn State Alumni, PA Retired State Employees, AARP and NSTA (National Spasmodic Torticollis Association).

She was well known for helping others before her illness prevented her from doing so. Her greatest enjoyment came from attending chorus concerts and drama presentations in which her grandchildren, Alyssa and Hunter, were performing.

Alice was thankful to her son, Tom, who did everything for her when she could not do for herself due to medical problems.

At the request of the family, all services will be private. Interment will be held at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona.
