BETTY J. KITTING

Betty J. Kitting, 91, formerly of Altoona, entered through the heavenly gates to see her Lord and Savior on Tuesday evening at Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Jasper and Francy (Wills) Price. On March 20, 1948, she married her husband, Kenneth H. Kitting in Winchester, Va., and he preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 2008.

Surviving are a niece, Karen D. Poorman and husband and Betty's caregiver, Robert E.; a great-nephew, Jason Poorman and his children, Carter and Natalie, and Jason’s girlfriend, Kailya Henry and her son, Gunner; a great-niece, BM1 Mindy Rivello U.S. Coast Guard  and husband, Matt, and their son, Vincent; nieces and nephews: Don (Tucker) Mathieu, Judy Forlina, Joy Wagner, Tammy Snyder; Kathy Washic and Cindy Nelson, Gene Fleck, Jo Ann Hertzog and Suzy Becker, Harold Jr. (Buddy) Price, Lori Kay Harrington, Sandy Welch, Randy Price and Carol Washic; numerous great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews; and her brother and sister-in-law, Mary Lou and Jack Kitting and their son, Jeff Kitting.

She was also preceded in death by six sisters: Evelyn Huston, Della Kustaborder, Cora Fleck, Loretta Garlick, Dorothy Stoltz and Margie Price; four brothers: Harold, Herman, John (who was killed in the service) and infant Robert Charles; and a nephew, Jack Fleck.

Betty retired from GTE Sylvania as a tester. She was a member of the First Grace Brethren Church and the Women of Grace.

She enjoyed shopping, gardening and flowers.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday, Pastor John Townsend officiating.  A private interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
