Beverly J. Settle, 77, Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, died Monday morning at Altoona Regional Health System, Bon Secours Hospital Campus.
Born in Roaring Spring, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Violet (Johnson) McMaster. She married James W. Settle May 5, 1956, in Maryland. He preceded her in death Jan. 8, 1998.
She is survived by six daughters: Ruth McCloskey of Hollidaysburg, Patricia Servello and Deborah McConnell, both of Altoona, Donna Baker of Eden, N.Y., Sarah Benkleman of Roaring Spring and Florence Babkiewicz of Boston, N.Y.; three sons: Cloyd McMaster of Altoona, James W. Settle of Eden, N.Y., and Thomas Settle of Altoona; 28 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great- grandchildren; and a brother, Charles E. McMaster of Pinecroft.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Elizabeth.
Beverly was an avid bingo player.
Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Jan. 27, 2009, and 9:30 a.m. to the time of service Wednesday at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, at the funeral home by the Rev. T.M. Talbot-Moses. Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery.
