Ellsworth H. 'Elzie" Wilt, 76, Altoona, went home to his Lord on Saturday afternoon at UPMC Altoona.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late John H. and Katherine Viola (Sydney) Wilt. He married Carol L. Tipton-Mock on June 6, 1964, in Altoona.

Surviving are his wife Carol; a daughter, Brenda Willett and husband, Steve; two sons: Terry Wilt and wife, Nicole, and Michael Wilt; nine grandchildren: Jonathan, Nicholas and Julia Willett and Carlie, Allison, Julianna, Zachary, Logan and Nathan Wilt; a great-grandchild, Analaya; and a sister, Beverly Garman.

Elzie was a graduate of Altoona High School. He was by employed by Veeder-Root Co. for 40 years. Elzie also worked at Texas Hogs at the Downtown and the Fifty-eight Street locations.

Elzie was a basketball coach for Central Blair Recreation Commission and served as a soccer coach for the Altoona Area High School soccer team and the AYSO team. He was a member First Church of Christ.

Elzie enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a very big fan of Penn State football. He enjoyed watching all his grandchildren playing soccer and basketball and coaching from the sidelines. He loved his dogs Abby and Mitsy.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, and from 9 to the 10 a.m. funeral service on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at First Church of Christ, 113 Good Shepherd Rd., Altoona,  by Pastor John Collins. Committal will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.
