Faye R. Lach

Mrs. Faye R. Lach, 90, of Altoona died Tuesday morning at her residence. She was born in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late William and Clara (Rutherford) Mountain. She married Stephen J. Lach June 1, 1957, in Altoona. He preceded her in death July 12, 1961. She is survived by a son, Stephen E. and wife, Nancy, of Altoona; a granddaughter, Kira Lach; a sister, Ethel Stephens of Altoona; and a caregiver and friend, Cheryl Gottshall. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Jr., and a special friend, Don Keith. Mrs. Lach was a lifelong member of Garden Heights United Methodist Church. She was a retired purchasing agent for the City of Altoona. Faye enjoyed gardening and sewing and taking care of elderly people. She also enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, Kira. She was a 1938 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. Friends may be received from 4 to 7 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., Altoona. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009, at the funeral home by Pastor Kathy Colebank. Interment will be at SS. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery, Altoona.
