Helen V. Kasun

Helen V. Kasun January 27, 1917 - November 4, 2009 Miss Helen V. Kasun age 92, of Garvey Manor died Wednesday afternoon at Manor, She was born in Altoona, PA., the daughter of the late Steve and Frances (Secen) Kasun. Survived by three brothers: Victor of New Castle, DEL, John G. of Altoona, Jim of Falling Waters, West Virginia. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother, Joe and Frank, and infant brothers Rudolph and Stephen Jr., sisters, Anne Wilkins and Mary, and infant sister Pauline. Miss Kasun was a member of Member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church (St. Leo The Great Catholic Church). Helen enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading and watching television. She cared for her parents in their elder ages and was a beloved companion to her sister Mary who preceded her in death. They cared for the family homestead for many years after their parents passing. She attended Cathedral Grade School and was a Graduate of Altoona Catholic High School class of 1936. Friends will be received on Friday from 2 - 4 and 6 to 8 pm at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home, Inc., (www.krishfuneralhome.com) 1204 - 17th Street, Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 12th Ave & 20th St., Altoona. by Father James D. Zatalava. Committal will be held at Sts. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery, Altoona. In Lieu of flowers kindly make donations for mass or to the church.
