HELEN C. KOWALSKI

Mrs. Helen C. Kowalski, 82, Altoona, died Saturday morning at Altoona Regional.

She was born in Coalport, daughter of the late John and Sophia (Yonkoski) Kowalski.

She is survived by a son, Frank P. Gerhart and his friend, Michele Craig, of Altoona; two sisters: Mary Graca of Detriot, Mich., and Eleanor Steback of Portage; two brothers: Ed and Leo, both of Gallitzin; and a special niece, Janie Latterner.

She was preceded in death by her sons: Rick and Greg Gerhart; and her siblings: John, Frank, Joe, Ann Janosik and Sophie Zolna.

Helen enjoyed word find puzzles.

At the request of the deceased there will be no viewing. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, 1 Cathedral Square, Altoona. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
