HELEN M. 'HENGA' PUFKA

Miss Helen M. 'Henga' Pufka age 94, of Altoona died unexpectedly Thursday at the Altoona Regional Health System Altoona Hosp Campus, Altoona. Born in Altoona, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Sosnowski) Pufka. Survived by a sister: Jennie Fonzi of Altoona, Nephews, Joseph And Wife Patty Pufka of Altoona; Steven Pufka and Cheryl Abhau of Pennsville, NJ; Richard and Wife Debbi Fonzi of Kernersville, NC; Paul A. and wife, Kay, of Middletown and James D. and wife, Dawn of Leola; Nieces, Nancy Pufka and Ron Jones of Altoona; Mary and husband Bill Allen of Altoona; Paula and husband Joseph Heuston of Fresno, Calf; Mim and husband Paul Billman of Steilacoom, Wash; Great Nieces And Nephews; Adam and wife Leanne Pufka; Jared Pufka; Jordan Pufka; Jamie Billman; Zachary Billman; Elle Billman; Sarah Billman; Meghan and husband Jim Baldwin, Quinn Allen; Colin Allen; Erin and husband Adam Powell; Nathan Kruis; Conner Kruis; Trevor Kruis. Great�"great nieces Grace Baldwin and Jane Powell. Predeceased by her brothers, Walter J, Frank and Joseph J. and her sister Stella Kruis. She was a graduate of Altoona High School Class of 1935 Ms. Pufka was a Member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish and Rosary Society, and Polish National Alliance. She retired in March 1, 1981 as a Assembly Operator from GTE Sylvania. Helen enjoyed cooking, baking, walking to mass daily and helping out with the fund raisers at the church. Henga especially enjoyed being with her nieces and nephews and their families and attending their activities. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Monday October 31, 2011 at the Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home, Inc. 1204 17th St. Altoona, Pa. where a vigil for deceased will be Monday evening. A funeral service will be held 10:00am on Tuesday Nov. 1, 2011 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church 12th Ave and 20th St. Altoona by Father J. D. Zatalava. Committal will be at Sts. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery, Altoona. In Lieu of flowers: donations to the American Cancer Society, Masses or Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
