Jack R. Servello Sr., 80, of Garvey Manor Nursing Home, died at UPMC Altoona Wednesday.
Jack was born in Altoona, the son of the late James J. and Mary Louise (Markley) Servello. His wife, Sandra Poet, whom he married on Oct. 31, 1959 at First Baptist Church, preceded him in death on May 20, 2018.
Surviving are: a daughter, Riann (Adam) Edson; two sons: Jack Jr. (Barbara) and Randy (Amanda); three sisters: Patricia (Pete) Burkholder, Judy (Tom) Clendenin and Nancy (Arnold Jr.) Hoover, six brothers: James J. Jr. (Nancy), Kenneth (Susan), David (Paulette “Polly”), Timothy (Brenda), Ronald (Diane) and Lawrence (Kelli), eight grandchildren: Richard (Brittny), Olivia, Emelia, Danessa, Mitchell, Michaela, Jonah and Mayah.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Suzanne Benton.
Jack served in the U. S. Navy from 1958-1962 as a Radioman in North Africa.
He served as a Scout Master in the seventies. Jack retired from PennDot as a draftsman.
Jack was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he was active in the Reapers Food Ministry and was a trustee at the church.
Jack was involved in several line dancing groups, including Top of the Line Dancers, and Country Friends and Arc of Blair County dancers.
He loved his 1957 Chevy truck and belonged to the Antique Truck Club of America. Jack took it to many truck shows.
Friends will be received from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021, at the First Baptist Church, 12th Ave and 17th St., Altoona, Pa. where a funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Tyler Pepper at 11:00 am. (Due to Covid-19 restrictions, masks and social distancing required).
Committal will be at Blair Memorial Park.
