James C. Trexler 81, of Altoona, passed away Thursday morning with his wife by his side at Embassy of Hearthside, State College.
Jim was born in Altoona, the son of the late John H and Marie C. (Porta) Trexler. He married Linda McConnell on April 12,1969 in Ashville.
Survived by his wife: Linda, two sons: Jonathan L. (Tina) and Brian J. (Erin), and 4 grandchildren.
One brother: Edward and predeceased in death by his brother Patrick.
Jim was an Altoona Area High School graduate.
Jim served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War on the USS Enterprise, the first Nuclear Aircraft Carrier.
He retired after 29 years from US Food Service as a truck driver. He later worked part time as a bus driver for Fullington Bus Co.
He was a member of NRA, Ashville VFW Post 4315 and the Plumbers and Pipe fitters Union.
Friends received Sunday January 26, 2025, from 2 to 5 pm at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home, Inc., 1204 - 17th Street, Altoona.
A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, January 27, 2025, at 10:00 am at St. Rose Of Lima Catholic Church, Altoona officiating by Father John Lyman.
Committal Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested memorial donations be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital-Memorial, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905
