JOAN C. KNOUSE

Joan C. Knouse, 66, Altoona, died Wednesday evening at Valley View Home. She was born in Irvona, daughter of the late Harry Woodrow and Effie (Thurston) Barrett. She married George T. Knouse on Dec. 26, 1977, in Altoona. Surviving are her husband; a son, Timothy E. at home; three sisters: Christine Jacobs of Madera, Susan G. Savannah of Butler and Shirley Medford in Florida; and two brothers: Douglas W. of La Jose and Lawrence. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Elizabeth; and a sister, Deborah. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, and from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona, where a funeral service outside of Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Monday by Monsignor Stanley Carson. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
