JOAN J. TURCOVSKI

 Joan J. Turcovski, 88, Altoona, passed away at Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg, 

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Weglowska) Bieniek.  Her husband, Michael P. Turcovski, who she married on Oct. 20, 1956, at Ss. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, preceded her in death on April 19, 2007.  

Surviving are her daughters, Linda of Altoona and Debra (Deb) and husband, Dale, of Altoona; grandchildren: Joshua, Leroy, Devin, Emily and Brannigan Jackson; Susan (Sue) in Florida and Michelle in Texas; two sons: Robert (Bob) and wife, Lori, of Altoona and grandchildren: Kristin and Eric and James (Jim) and wife, Dawn, of North Huntingdon; and grandchildren: Derek, Justin and Jordyn; and a son-in-law, Peter Sedon; and grandchildren: Ryan and Megan; and seven great-grandchildren. 

 She was preceded in death by her son, Bill: a daughter, Cheryl Sedon; her sisters: Julie Hanley, Helen Radwanski, Stephanie Lawruk and Cecelia Hollern; and her brothers, Walter and Stanley. 

 She was a 1952 graduate of Altoona High school and a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She sang in various church choirs and was a member of Jubilate Deo Sacred Choir. She also was an election poll worker for the 14th Ward in Altoona. 

Joan enjoyed gardening and her beloved Butterfly Bush. She was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Altoona Curve fan. She devoted her time to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Committal will be at Ss. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery.
