Joanna J. Tetanich, 84, Altoona, died Friday morning at Altoona Center for Nursing.
She was born in Coupon, daughter of the late Joseph J and Sophie (Boychew) Adamczyk. On May 26, 1956, she married Paul Tetanich at St. Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, Altoona, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1998.
Surviving are two daughters: Lisa A. Peters and husband, Jim, and Paula Duffy and husband, John, all of Altoona; three grandsons: Bradley Tetanich, Zachary Conrad and John Paul Duffy; a sister, Lovey Adamczyk of Olmsted, Ohio; and a brother, Floryan Adamczyk of Hollidaysburg.
Joanna worked at Sylvania. She was a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Altoona, and did the financial book keeping for the church for many years. She was also a member of the ladies Auxiliary of Fort Apache VFW. She enjoyed holiday cooking, traveling to the casinos, bingo and especially being with her children and grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona. A Panikhida service will be held at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, 2016. A funeral liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, at St. Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, Altoona, Father Andrew Clark officiating. Committal will be at St. Mary Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Altoona.
