JOANNE I. BROWN

Joanne I. Brown, 84, of Altoona, passed away peacefully Monday morning at Guardian Health Care- Hillview. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Wallace and Gladys (Wasyliszyn) Kuiawa.

She married Wilson R. Brown on May 3, 1958, in Altoona. He preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 2011.

Surviving are children: Stephen T. Brown (Katrina), Monica Rossi and Denise Croft (Joseph); grandchildren: Christopher Brown (Daniella), Emily McDonald (Dalton), James Rossi (Paige), Julian Rossi, Erin Croft-Dixon (Frank) and Allison Croft-Bernheimer (Mark); great-grandchildren, Ada McDonald and Amelia Brown; and a brother David Kuiawa (Bonnie). 

She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, James Rossi Jr. 

Joanne was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

She worked in retail and was an avid gardener, a devoted catholic and a person devoted to saying the rosary. Joanne enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren. 

Friends will be received from 10 until the funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 5514 Roselawn Ave., Altoona. Monsignor Michael Becker will be officiating. 

Committal will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
