John Rupeka

John Rupeka June 23, 1914 - June 3, 2009 Mr. John Rupeka age 94, of Williamsburg RD., died Wednesday morning at his residence. Born in Frankstown, he was the son of the late Kuzma and Barbara Rupeka. He married Stella Boyko on August 30, 1947 at Altoona; she preceded him in death on August 16, 1981. Survived by one daughter: Mary Criswell and husband Larry with whom he resided, a son: David and wife Sharee Rupeka of Williamsburg, RD., 3 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Two sisters: Olga Steele of Williamsburg, Catherine Carrol of Williamsburg, RD. and a brother: Joseph of Johnstown. Mr. Rupeka was a member of Member of St. Mary's Holy Assumption Orthodox Church, Ganister. He retired as a Utility Maintenance Man for Us STEEL. Mr. Rupeka enjoyed gardening. He served during World War II in the Navy as a Motor Machinist's Mate, First Class. At the request of the deceased there will be no viewing, a private graveside service will be held at St. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church Cemetery by Father. G. Andrew Matychak officiating
