John A. Watchey, 75, Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday at his daughter’s residence in Cheswick.
He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Robert E. and the late Bertha C. (Krape) Watchey. On Feb. 5, 1966, he married Donna Delfosse, who preceded him in death on Dec. 31, 2000.
Surviving are three daughters: Christine (Mike) McCulley of Dean, Jennifer (William) Resick of Kernerville, N.C., and Rebecca (Randy) Crim of Cheswick; a son, John A. (Rhonda Sue) Watchey Jr. of Hollidaysburg; 17 grandchildren; a sister, Linda L. (David) Hoover of Altoona; and companion, Arla Bratton of Hollidaysburg.
John was an Altoona High School graduate, Class of 1963. He was a machinist, employed by SKF Industries. He served during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Navy.
John was a Christian. He was a member of the Bavarian Aid Society, the Heidelberg Country Club and the Frankstown Sportsmen’s Association.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 until the 7 p.m. funeral service Monday, July 6, 2020, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona, Pastor Eli Hess officiating. A private committal will be at Calvary Cemetery
