Leonard E. Parrish, 70, formerly of 1920 15th Ave., Altoona, died Friday afternoon at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus.
He was born in Gallitzin, son of the late Leonard A. and Ellen E. (Ray) Parrish. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Weidwald.
Surviving are two daughters: Michelle Kavalets and husband, Mick, of Altoona and Marjorie Volovski and husband, John, of Fayetteville, N.C.; a son, Dennis of Altoona; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Patricia Bennett of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; a brother, Anthony and wife, Dolly, of Lakemont; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Joan Weidlich.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Virga, and a brother, Robert.
Mr. Parrish was a 1957 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He served with the U.S. National Guard and the U.S. Air Force from 1958-62 as an airman second class.
He retired from the production department of Revlon after 30 years of service. He was a life member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Brotherhood.
Mr. Parrish enjoyed playing cards, hunting and fishing.
Friends will be received from 2:30 to 4 p.m., Monday, June 29, 2009, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., (www.krishfuneralhome.com), 1204 17th St., Altoona, where a memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, officiated by Father Ed Sabo.
