Marjorie Ann ‘Margie’ (Kunstbeck) Adamczyk, 75, of Mt. Jackson, Va., formerly of Altoona, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sept. 9, 2023, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late M. Rita (Moloney) and Louis J. Kunstbeck.
On Dec. 28, 2010, she married Robert G. Adamczyk at the Lady of the Shenandoah Chapel in Basye, Va.
Surviving are her husband; and two sons, Ronald M. Kenner (Amy) of Duncansville and Michael S. Kenner of Pittsville, Md.; a stepson, Robert Adamczyk Jr.; a sister, Paula (William) Lambert of Warriors Mark; and sisters-in-law, Paulette Adamczyk and Nora A. Kunstbeck. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. She was affectionately known as Aunt Margie to many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, George and Rosemary Kunstbeck; and brothers-in-law, Paul and Frank Adamczyk.
Margie was a graduate of the Altoona Vo- Tech Licensed Practical Nurse Program. She was employed by Allegheny Lutheran Home in Hollidaysburg, where she lovingly and tenderly cared for each and every resident in her charge for over 25 years.
She was a devout member of St John Bosco Parish in Woodstock, Va.
Margie was a friend to everyone she met, but she was most proud of her two sons. She had an unwavering love for her family and friends.
She loved gardening, traveling and reading.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, 2023, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, at Eighth Ave. and 11th Street, Altoona. Inurnment at Ss. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts in Margie's name be sent to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
