Mary Lutchko, 96, formerly of Washington Avenue, Altoona, died Thursday morning at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Hanover Township,Wilkes-Barre, daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Mehon) Ufrenevicz. She married Joseph Lutchko on Nov. 25, 1940, in Nanticoke. He preceded her in death on Sept. 16, 1980.
Surviving are a son, Thomas J. Lutchko of Plantation, Fla., whose wife, Kathryn W. Burkett of Altoona, passed away on Dec. 21, 2010; two grandchildren: Lisa Page Whyte and husband, Jim, of Fort Myers, Fla. and Lori Kay Meenan and husband, Jerry, of Plantation, Fla.; three great-grandsons: Brandon Whyte, Bradley Whyte and Keegan Meenan; two brothers: John Frenett of Blasdell, N.Y. and George Frenett of Kensington, Md.; a first cousin, Stephania (Cheppy) Zearfoss of Mountain Top; and a friend and caregiver, Carol Smith.
Mary was a former member of Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church and Our Lady of Fatima Parish and The Altar and Rosary Society, St. Hedwig's Society, PNA group 2091, Ave Maria Society, Golden Nuggets and the Birthday Girls. She enjoyed polka dances.
Friends will be received from 9 to 9:50 a.m. preceding the 10 a.m. funeral Mass Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at St. Joseph Chapel at Garvey Manor, 1037 S. Logan Blvd., Hollidaysburg. The Committal will be at Saints Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations for Masses. Arrangements are by Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona.
