Mary E. Yeager, 87, Altoona, died Thursday morning at her residence.
She was born in Huntingdon, daughter of the late Thomas and Frances (Feroleto) Feroleto. She married Myron J. Yeager Nov. 27, 1954, at Holy Trinity Church, Huntingdon.
Surviving are her husband, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Angelo.
Mary was a 1940 graduate of Huntingdon High School. She worked at Sylvania, GTE and North American Phillips, where she retired in 1982 as a quality control inspector.
She was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 32 years and also a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church (St. Leo the Great Catholic Church). She also was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, AARP, Sons of Italy Auxiliary, Golden Nuggets, Horseshoe Seniors, Hollidaysburg Golden Age and GTE Quarter Century Club.
Mary was a volunteer at Bon Secours-Holy Family Hospital, Altoona Hospital and Sister Paula's soup kitchen. She enjoyed knitting.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 511 20th St., Altoona, by Monsignor Stanley Carson. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
