PAUL V. SETTLEMYER

March 18, 1935 — November 3, 2014

Paul V. Settlemyer, 79, Altoona, died Monday evening at his residence.

He was born in Ashville, son of the late Clarence and Pauline (Conrad) Settlemyer. He married Barbara J. Clowson on July 1, 1953, in Berryville, Va.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Deborah Swartz (Don); three sons: Joseph Edward, Mark Randal (Pam) and Paul Bruce (Dori); nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen; and four brothers: Raymond, Ronald, Patrick and George.

He was preceded in death by a son, Lonnie Dean; three brothers: Richard, Donald and John T.; and a sister, Margaret Ann Jenkins.

Paul was employed as a truck driver for General Motors working out of Buffalo, N.Y. He was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church, and he was a very hard worker.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona, where a vigil will be held at 6:45 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Fourth Street and Sixth Avenue, Altoona, by the Very Rev. Ronald V. Osinski and Father James Coveney. Committal will be at Blair Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be sent to the American Heart Association.
