Paula J. 'Penny' Laffertty

 Paula J. “Penny” Lafferty, 85, passed away at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home (Arnold Hall) on Jan. 21, 2025, after a brief illness. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Paul L. and Thelma (Dodson) Tomasetti,

 She married her loving husband, Robert L. “Punk” Lafferty on Feb. 13, 1982. He preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 1987.

 She is survived by sisters: Cheryl A. Fleck, Debra S. Picano of Altoona and Michele Tomasetti of State College; nephews: Ryan (Frances) Fleck and children: Luke, Olivia and Sophia of Altoona; Michael (Kristina) Fleck and children: Jonah and Gabriel of Gettysburg, Pa.; brother-in-law, Jerry Fleck of Altoona; and lifelong friend, Polly Jo LeMay of Hershey, Pa.

 She was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel P. Tomasetti; and brother-in-law, Richard P. Picano.

 Penny graduated from Altoona High School in 1957. She then went to work at Puritan (Warnaco).

 Penny went back to college at Mount Aloysius and graduated 1964 as a Surgical Technician. She worked at Altoona Hospital in that position, and then at Revco as a Pharmacy Tech for many years. She retired from Hollidaysburg Veterans Home as a Pharmacy Tech.

 She was an avid bowler, reader, card player and an excellent cook.

 Penny was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was a Merry Maid in cleaning the church.

 At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing. Friends will be received from 10 to 10:50 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2025, at Sacred Heart Church, Sixth Ave. and 20th Street, Altoona, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with Father L'ubomir J. Strecok officiating. Private Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
