Phyllis B. Mosney, 95, Altoona, died Wednesday evening at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Thomas and Antoinette (Machnicki) Bucynski. She married Frank Mosney on Oct. 29, 1949, in Altoona. He preceded her in death Feb. 11, 1994.
Surviving are two daughters: Carol A. Corle and husband, Jack, with whom she had resided in Altoona, and Mary Zingrone of Altoona; a son, Thomas Kutzatoski and wife, Barbara, of Laurel, Del.; and a sister, Vernita Kaminski of Lilly.
She was preceded in death by five brothers: Leo, Albin, Edwin, Lawrence and Joseph; three sisters: Genevieve Radeff, Helen Peters and Evelyn Savarino; and a son-in-law, Peter Zingrone.
Mrs. Mosney was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church (formerly SS. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church), Rosary Society of SS. Peter and Paul Church, Ave Maria Society, Polish Nation Alliance, St. Hedwig Society and the birthday girls.
Phyllis was an avid bingo player and enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held this evening. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 12th Avenue and 20th Street, Altoona, Father James D. Zatalava officiating. Committal will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
