ROBERT J. 'BOB' McMILLAN

Robert J. "Bob" McMillan, 73, Altoona, died Tuesday at UPMC Altoona, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Frank and Sophie (Musial) McMillan. On Nov. 30, 1968, he married Pamela J. Messersmith in Altoona.

In addition to his wife, surviving are his son, Scott and wife, Jill; and his granddaughter, Sophia.

Bob was a 1965 graduate of Altoona High School. He previously was employed at Morefield Communications and Jarrett Music. He also was a self-employed music teacher and Luthier repairman until his time of his retirement.

He was Sgt. In the Marines Corp. during Vietnam War. Bob was a combat veteran and served in the Khe Sanh and Con Thien.

He enjoyed fishing and volunteering at Healing Waters. Bob played with various bands and was involved in U.S. Sound Theater.

Friends will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona, where a funeral service, outside of Mass, will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, by the Franciscan Friars. A private committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
