Rose M. Pizur, 90, Altoona, formerly of Barnesboro, passed away Wednesday at Golden LivingCenter-Hillview.
She was born in Hastings, daughter of the late John and Rose (Kolasa) Niemiec.
Surviving are four children: Raymond and wife, Patricia (McMurray), of Belfast, N.Y., Ralph and wife, Marie (Puisys), of Grand Island, N.Y., Patricia Millward and husband, Jim, of Altoona and Martin and wife, Carol (Moriconi), of Grand Island, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Pizur, on Aug. 5, 1989; a son, John M.; a grandson, David J. Millward; two brothers: John and Frank Niemiec; and four sisters: Thelma Dulansey, Hedwig Davis, Ann Julius and Antoinette Noll. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Rose was a member of St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, Altoona.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, Father D. Timothy Grimme officiating. Committal will be at Calvary Mausoleum.
Arrangements are by Moriconi Funeral Home Inc., Northern Cambria.
