Rose Regina Wesner, 94, of Altoona, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Friday. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Joseph and Marguerite (Messersmith) Brunner.
She married James Wesner on July 14, 1951, at The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. After 68 years of loving marriage, he preceded her in death on March 31, 2019.
Rose is survived by two sons, Craig (Terri) and Kevin (Mary Jo); three grandchildren: Michael, Kellie Bettwy (Steve) and Emma; and two great-granddaughters, Maxine Rose and Eleanor Josephine, who were the light of her life; and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Karen Louise; and a sister, Madeline Ricchetti.
Rose graduated from Altoona Catholic High School, class of 1948. She was a lifelong member of The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament.
She was a charter member of the Mother Seton Guild and Christian Mothers and a proud Den Mother with many years of service with Cathedral’s Cub Scout Troop 6.
Rose retired as a secretary from the Religious Education Office of the Altoona-Johnstown Diocese after almost 20 years of service. She also volunteered making lap robes at the Senior Citizen Center and RSVP Program.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, gardening, and needle work. She also enjoyed being with her family and friends who were always welcome in her home.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, at The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, with Monsignor Stanley Carson officiating.
