William David McConahy age 87, formerly of Altoona died Sunday afternoon at Hollidaysburg Veterans Home,
Born in Altoona, PA., he was the son of the late Charles Vernon and Mary (Lingafelt) McConahy. He married Rose Marie Ivory on July 16, 1949 at Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament.
Survived by his wife: one daughter: Diane Marie Stahl and husband Jeffrey of Altoona, two sons: William James and wife Vickie, Edward David and wife Rose all of Altoona, , grandchildren Nicole M. (Stahl) Cutler and husband Jeffrey, Adam Stahl, Heather J. McConahy, Ryan P. McConahy and Edward McConahy and a great grandson Justin T. Cutler. One brother: Charles Albert of Altoona.
Member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, and attend Altoona Catholic High School.
William was in the Civilian Conservation Corp from 1940 to 1942 and then entered the Navy during World War II as a Mailman Second class in the Navy Flight Air Wing Corp.
Mr. McConahy was a member of Life time member of Bavarian Aid Society,
He was a Warehouseman for Shaffers store and then Ward Trucking Company in warehouse retiring in a989 after 31 years.
He enjoyed hunting and was an avid walker.

Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 10:00 am at Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, 1 Cathedral Square, Altoona.
Committal rites will be conducted at Alto-Reste Burial Park, Altoona.
